The herbarium is the tangible result of our collaborative improvisation sessions over a period of seven years. In the herbarium we display the body of our work. It functions as a documentation and portfolio. The ongoing encounters between the cellist Bart Van Rosmalen and me are motivated by the desire to explore the power of the creative process itself: to create by doing, to listen to each other and to enter into a free interplay within the given conditions. After the sessions we take time to reflect upon them separately at home, writing down our thoughts and ideas. I experience the interventions as spatial drawings. These written reflections and our materials, such as the cord, bow, cello, paper, colour, voice, movement and material found 'on stage' enter in the two dimensional documentation of the herbarium.
